Real County Public Library Summer Children’s Program
On June 4, 2025, the Library asked Connie Cates if the children could tour the museum to look for colors. The summer program was teaching them the Color Wheel! The museum added different swaths of colored cloth among the museum displays. Kathy Brooks added much to the group with stories of various displays. During her narrations, Kathy asked the children if they knew what an ancestor was and then proceeded to tell them that ancestors were their grandparents and great-grandparents. She explained that in the museum, we preserve the way those ancestors lived and all the things they used from a long time ago. Immediately from the front row, one child raised his hand and said, “Like in 1999?” Program over!
The kids had a great time, and we did too!
